Creepity creatures generally fall into one of 7 categories

Weird, magic, and spookity creatures don't like to be seen by normal humans, especially adults. That's why it's so hard to capture evidence of them! If you are brave enough to snap a picture, or get some audio proof, it's often fuzzy. Sometimes, you'll find physical proof of an encounter, like mummy wraps, footprints, or spooky dooky!
